One of my friends just had a beautiful baby boy and as a little gift I wanted to give her something to decorate the baby room with. I know letters and initials are really big right now so this gift isn’t anything you probably haven’t already seen but I thought I would share it with you anyways :)
This project only took me about an hour and is sooo easy. I bought these wood block letters at Target and used xxx navy blue paint. I painted two layers of the blue paint covering the front and back of each letter. To finish it off and add some interest I tired matching blue yarn around different parts of each letter and that’s it.
When I was at the store buying the supplies I thought I would need at least 2 bottles paint and hot glue to glue the yarn down with. I don’t know what I was thinking! To paint these four letters twice I used about half of bottle of craft paint and just double knotted the yarn in the back so glue wasn’t even necessary. It doesn’t get much easier than this!
I don’t think there is a better gift to give to a new mother, than a handmade gift and well, possibly diapers… but a handmade gift always adds a special touch. Have you made something by hand to give to a new mother lately? If so, let me know in the comments, I would love to check it out.
