Well I’ll be the first to say I got a little carried away with this layout. After binge watching scrapbook process videos I sat down to scrap and basically used every technique I had just seen! I love scrapbooking so much that sometimes I get so wrapped up in creating that I over do it without realizing it until I’m finished and unfortunately this was the case on this one. Overall I like the color scheme and had a lot of fun creating this layout so it’s all good.
I started this layout by using my silhouette cameo to cut out this cut file called "Graphic Background" by Just Nick. I enlarged it and angled it diagonally on my cardstock. When I removed it from my cutting mat I tore one of the horizontal strips which is something that drives me crazy!! I wanted to recut the entire file immediately BUT I DIDN’T. I know I’m pretty amazed with myself as well and in the end you can’t even tell.
I backed the cut file with various scraps of light blue, light brown and some text cardstock. I applied a thin layer of gesso over the areas I wanted to add some paint to and using the packaging technique I added different shades of blue and gold paint. Next I cut out a couple feathers from the cut file called "Feathers" by The Silhouette Store. Before I removed the cut file from my cutting mat I colored them using my gelatos and gold paint. I really like the way these feathers turned out but unfortunately this layout doesn’t allow them to shine but I will definitely be using these on another layout soon. That’s about it for this layout, the embellishments are just left over pieces I had on my desk, some things from the Becky Higgins Sweet Edition chipboard collection as well as stickers and rub-on’s from Recollections sold at Michaels. I hope this layout has inspired you to go create something and get in the zone… but not too much in the zone, if you know I mean and have fun!
